EXCLUSIVE

  • EU citizenship? The British continue to say ‘no thank you’

  • UK citizenship for EU nationals? An almost incredible 5.6m have now said “yes please” to Priti Patel

CIBUK is pleased to present two important reports for members and readers, prepared by colleagues at our affiliated organisation Facts4EU.Org – CIBUK’s ‘facts engine’.

.

1. EU citizenship? “Non merci, nein danke,” say the British

The first article relates to the low take-up of EU citizenship by the British people, despite Remainers claiming that many British people would leave the UK for the EU if Leave won the EU Referendum. The official numbers from the EU Commission itself have been analysed by the Facts4EU.Org team and summarised beautifully.

You can read the summary report here:

Only 2 in 10,000 Brits chose EU citizenship in Brexit year of 2020, says EU”
“And on the other hand, out of over 729,000 new EU citizens in 2020, only 2% were British”

2. Many suspected there were far more EU nationals in the UK than claimed – here’s the proof

The second report looks at the other side of the coin. It uses Facts4EU’s research of the latest Home Office figures for the numbers of EU nationals applying to stay permanently in the UK. The information is quite shocking and certainly thought-provoking in many ways.

You can read this summary report here:

“The UK has received over 6.5 MILLION resettlement applications from the EU”
“Priti Patel’s Home Office has processed 96% and 5.8 million have been approved”

CIBUK would like to thank our colleagues at Facts4EU.Org for permission to co-publish with them.
