Latest Starmer embarrassment: 87% of boat migrants are male – 81% are “men of fighting age,” says our new report

82 nationalities using this route on Sir Keir’s watch – “Half the World’s using it now”
Part II of our special asylum report reveals why mothers countrywide are in open revolt
Today’s second instalment in the Stand for Our Sovereignty and Facts4EU Special Report for GB News on asylum in the UK brings even more surprises – and yet more embarrassment for Sir Keir Starmer and his Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.
Fresh on the heels of Stand for Our Sovereignty’s report last week that an extra 2,760 migrants are being housed in hotels compared to when Sir Keir came to power last summer, we and GB News can now reveal extraordinary details of the asylum situation of illegal boat migrants.
‘Macron’s migrants’ 2025
- The latest proportion of males is higher than ever
- More than four in five fall into the ‘fighting age’ category
- “Half the World’s nationalities are now using this route into the UK”
- “If you say you’re from one of these three countries, you’re virtually certain to be granted asylum”
The Stand for our Sovereignty campaign team with support from the Brexit Facts4EU think-tank has continued its a deep-dive through the hundreds of spreadsheets held by the Home Office containing data of all kinds about asylum, and this time we have uncovered some hitherto unknown facts about the boat migrant crisis.
This report analyses the unseen figures, to bring readers a hard-hitting summary of this invasion of our shores that has lasted seven years, with the benefit of some ‘at-a-glance’ charts and some facts you will never be told about in most of the media.
Part II – Asylum and the illegal migrants in small boats
Stand for Our Sovereignty showed previously how 109,343 individuals claimed asylum in the UK in the year to end-March 2025. Now, in that same period, we look at the 38,023 illegal migrants who crossed the Channel, 95% of whom claimed asylum.
Richard Tice MP, Deputy Leader, Reform UK, speaking exclusively to GBN, Facts4EU, and Stand for Our Sovereignty, Wed 13 Aug 2025
“We will never grow the economy and improve people’s living standards if we don’t tackle this escalating crisis and others like them.
“This latest asylum report from Stand for Our Sovereignty, Facts4EU confirms nearly nine out of ten boat migrants are male and over 80% of these are men of fighting age – 18-39 years old. Last week’s report put the lie to Labour’s claims over hotels, uncovering the latest official figures showing over 2,700 more migrants in hotels since Starmer came to power.
“Reform UK is the only major party people can trust to get to grips with this crisis and put the country back on the path to security and growth.”
Stand for our Sovereignty and Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary
Illegal migrants in small boats made 36,122 claims for asylum
in the year to end-March 2025
This is an increase of 24% on the previous year
1. How many small boat arrivals in the year and how many were male?
Of those in the year to Mar 2025, 36,122 claims for asylum were made by small boat migrants, equating to 95% of all those who arrived this way. This figure is up by 24%, year-on-year.

Importantly, the latest figure is that 87% of illegal boat migrants are male.
2. More than four in five fall into the ‘fighting age’ category
Out of the 31,786 males, including boys and old men, 25,879 were fighting age males, aged 18-39 years. It will no doubt be argued that men aged 40 and above could also be put into this category, but the Home Office does not provide a breakdown above the age of 39.

Even taking the number for males aged 18-39, this represents 81.4% of all males.
3. The Top 20 countries small boat migrants are now coming from
The nationality mix has changed over the last seven years. The chart below shows the latest break-down of the numbers by country of origin, for the year ended Mar 2025.
The top countries these migrants are coming from are currently Afghanistan, Syria, and Eritrea.

What is particularly noticeable, however, is the result of us analysing ALL the illegal boat migrants.
Illegal boat migrants come from an extraordinary 82 countries.
In short, this route into the United Kingdom is being used from people all over the world. The idea that all of these people have any legitimate claim for asylum in the United Kingdom is clearly false.

Stand for our Sovereignty and Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary (Cont’d)
4. “If you say you’re from one of these three countries, you’re virtually certain to be granted asylum – Which are they?”
If a migrant hails from one of three countries he (or she) will almost certainly be granted asylum: Syria, Sudan and the Yemen. These are followed by Eritreans, Iranians, and Afghanis, at much lower levels.

Coming up in the final part of this special asylum series…
This set of three reports on asylum in the UK is exclusive to Stand for Our Sovereignty, Facts4EU, and GB News readers and viewers. In the final part next Thursday, we will reveal even more embarrassing details for the Prime Minister and his Home Secretary.
Amongst other things, we will provide detail on two ways of ‘gaming the system’ which illegal migrants can use to improve their chances of being allowed to stay. As with many aspects of the migrant crisis, these may have been suspected by the general public. Well, now Stand for our Sovereignty, Facts4EU, and GB News have the evidence to expose these and readers will be able to decide if they were right all along.
Don’t miss it!
And finally….
Last week, GB News presenter Martin Daubney invited Stand for Our Sovereignty (SOS) onto his popular daily TV show to talk about the report we produced for Part I in this series, which had been published by them early in the morning, provoking a lot of reaction.
One of the Deputy Chairmen of SOS, Ben Philips, duly accepted and you can watch the interview below.
Observations
This report is one of GB News’ top stories this morning
As with Part I of this series last Thursday, this morning the report above that we co-produced with Stand for Our Sovereignty is one of the top stories at GB News.
