Welcome to a new innovation from a rejuvenating CIB
The Campaign for an Independent Britain has reached agreement with nine other organisations reflecting our values, in order to bring you a selection of contemporary and vibrant articles on a regular basis.
We hope you will find this site to be a special place to come each day to read important news and reports of interest to all who believe in a fully free and independent United Kingdom.
Facts4EU.Org is the most prolific researcher and publisher of original facts in the World relating to the UK’s global standing, since 2015. It is an effective and productive think-tank, read by Ministers, MPs, MEPs, Peers, Ambassadors, journalists and the public. Their team has published original, researched work on an almost daily basis for seven years – the only think-tank to do this. The articles are based on original research, they are easy to read, and everything comes from official sources.
In addition, Facts4EU initiated and coordinated campaigns involving many other organisations to put pressure on MPs to respect the Leave vote and deliver a free, independent, and sovereign United Kingdom.
Facts4EU’s work is reported in the national media around 10 times per month, giving them significant reach to the public as well as to decision-makers.
The Bruges Group is an independent all-party think tank. Set up in February 1989, its aim was to promote the idea of a less centralised European structure than that emerging in Brussels. Its inspiration was Margaret Thatcher’s Bruges Speech in September 1988, in which she remarked that, “We have not successfully rolled back the frontiers of the state in Britain, only to see them reimposed at a European level, with a European superstate exercising a new dominance from Brussels.”
Through its groundbreaking publications and wide-ranging discussions The Bruges Group has spearheaded the intellectual battle against the notion of ever closer union in Europe and will continue its fight against British involvement in a single European state.
Briefings for Britain is comprised of professionals from a wide range of academic, business and other backgrounds. It provides a platform for evidence-based analysis and reasoned arguments in favour of Brexit. Unfortunately, the current debate around Brexit in the UK and abroad is characterised by groupthink and a false intellectual consensus. Briefings for Brexit aims to challenge this by giving pro-Brexit academics and professionals a voice, enabling them to make the positive, intellectual case for the UK’s exit from the EU.
Founded twenty years ago, Global Britain is committed to safeguarding the rights and interests of Britons on the international stage. Global Britain was founded to develop the business case for leaving the EU and once that objective was secured it has campaigned to see the result of the 2016 referendum was respected.
Brexit-Watch.org is a non-party / cross-party initiative to ensure the UK Government is fully aware of the opportunities and risks arising from the decisions it must take to complete Brexit. Brexit-Watch.org publishes insightful analysis and commentary to inform those tasked with taking key decisions in the negotiating process, as well as the millions who wait expectantly to see what type of Brexit is being delivered.
Think Scotland as an independent not-for-profit debating forum with a cross-section of topical, political and cultural writing on a daily basis. ThinkScotland was established as a virtual think tank in 2006 by Scottish entrepreneur Robert Kilgour to encourage greater discussion in Scotland about economic, social and constitutional policies – from the perspective of mainly Scottish Conservative authors.
British Counties Campaign is a non-political organisation of like-minded people from across the United Kingdom who are seeking to restore by means of legislation the 92 traditional British Counties to their rightful place, properly recognised, signposted and marked on maps and used as a fixed frame of reference for sporting, cultural and addressing purposes.
The number of MPs supporting the campaign continues to grow and currently stands at 28.
China Analysis Group is a non-partisan, not-for-profit, expert group looking at all aspects of China’s relations with the UK and the rest of the world. China Analysis Group’s aims and objectives are: to widen understanding of the issues which China presents amongst policy-makers, academia, the public, the media, and the business sector; to inform direction, policy, and public and business thinking; and to defend and promote the values of open societies, including freedom, human rights, the rule of law and the international rules-based order.
Conservative Post is a grassroots outlet dedicated to ‘pumping positive press back into Britain’ with a focus on the positive achievements and opportunities now open to the United Kingdom in a post-Brexit world. With extensive contacts in Westminster and beyond, Conservative Post provides nation-wide coverage on news often overlooked or ignored by the mainstream media.
The Centre for the Union was established to protect the integrity of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It campaigns for the defence of the Union and against independence for Scotland and Northern Ireland, believing the United Kingdom is stronger as one nation and not as separate entities.
The Centre for the Union aims to work across the political divide, campaigning with Unionists across all political parties in support of the United Kingdom.
Veterans for Britain was formed in March 2016 in order to put forward the Defence and Security arguments for the UK to vote to leave the European Union in the 2016 Referendum, and to provide a voice for the UK’s military veterans and serving soldiers in the Leave campaign over 20 years.
Following the Referendum, and the consequent accelerated ambitions of the EU in Defence and Security, there remains an important role for Veterans for Britain. The group will, through detailed research and advocacy, seek to:
Fishing for Leave was founded to campaign for UK withdrawal from the EU, to regain control and repatriate the majority of British fisheries’ resources. FFL highlights the potential of UK fisheries and is fighting to ensure a brighter future for our industry.
Although the referendum victory on 23 June 2016 was a great and historic day, it was merely a signal of intent. FFL is campaigning to ensure UK fishermen get a fair Brexit and are not sold out in the negotiation process. That means full withdrawal from the harmful Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and the restoration of national control over UK waters. The UK must regain and retain all fisheries resources – they must not be bargained away as part of a withdrawal agreement or future UK-EU relationship.
The Labour Euro-Safeguards Campaign (LESC) believes it has not been in Britain’s long-term interest to be a member of the European Union. It aims to influence opinion within the Labour Party, the wider Labour Movement and beyond towards this point of view.
The LESC has been in continuous existence since shortly after the 1975 referendum on whether Britain should stay in the EEC, which the UK had joined in 1973. Those who came together to form the LESC felt strongly that, although their arguments had not prevailed during the 1975 referendum, they were still fundamentally right. Membership is open to Labour Party members, trade unionists, and others who oppose Britain’s membership of the EU.
Labour Leave is a campaign group for Labour Party members which campaigned for Leave in the 2016 referendum. Labour Leave continues to campaign for a fair deal from Brexit negotiations and hold the government and the Labour Party to account. Its top 5 manifesto commitments are:
