This report has been co-published with our affiliated organisation, Brexit Facts4EU.Org. We are most grateful for their original research into the raw data which backs what follows.
Brexit Britain’s international trade in goods and services has INCREASED
And this applies whatever time period you choose, in real terms or in current prices
In a devastating blow for the Rejoiner movement, CIBUK.Org and Facts4EU leaves them with nowhere to go
A major CIBUK.Org and Facts4EU.Org Two-Part Report
- Summary of export growth [This report]
- The detailed evidence showing UK international trade is up by all measures
In this two-part landmark report, we provide the official facts as well as comments from MPs
1. Your summary report
In today’s landmark summary report, following weeks of detailed research using the official sources, CIBUK.Org and Facts4EU.Org can present the definitive evidence that UK’s exports of goods and services since the Leave vote and thereafter have increased – not fallen as the Rejoiners claim.
It doesn’t matter what time period you take, nor whether you use ‘current prices’, or ‘chained volume measures’ to take out the effect of price rises. In all cases Brexit Britain’s international trade is up.
UK international exports are up :-
- Despite the Remainers’ desperate attempts to overturn the largest democratic vote in UK history
- Despite the Remainer-Rejoiners’ desperate attempts then to prevent a successful Brexit
- Despite them talking the country down ever since
- And despite the EU’s attempts to put every obstacle in the way for UK exporters
Summary
Brexit Britain’s international trade in goods and services has INCREASED :-
1. Using ‘Chained Volume Measures’ (to take out the effect of price inflation)
- UP 9.3% – Since the vote to leave on 23 June 2016 – UP
- UP 2.6% – Since we left the EU’s ‘transition period’ on 31 Dec 2020 – UP

2. Using ‘Current Prices’ – actual value of exports in each time period
- UP 41.0% – Since the vote to leave on 23 Jun 2016 – UP
- UP 16.0% – Since we left the EU’s ‘transition period’ on 31 Dec 2020 – UP

Summary
We prove it doesn’t matter what period you take, UK exports of goods and services are UP. This applies using both Current Pricing and also when taking out price rises using the ONS’s Chained Volume Measures tables.
MPs who believe in democracy and being truthful to voters have stood up to be counted
CIBUK and Facts4EU contacted MPs for their comments on this landmark report. Today we give the views of one of these, the Rt Hon Sir John Redwood MP. In Part Two we hope to provide the observations of other senior politicians.
The Rt Hon Sir John Redwood MP comments exclusively to CIBUK.Org and Facts4EU.Org
“Great work again from Facts4EU.org.
“Our trade is up after leaving the EU. Remainers thought it was all about trade and made false gloomy predictions. For optimistic and positive leavers it is about so much more than trade. It is about getting our country back.
“Every day I am glad we are now free to govern ourselves again. It would also be good to make and grow more at home to cut our import dependence on the EU.”
The Rt Hon Sir John Redwood MP, 12 Dec 2022
