This report has been co-published with our affiliated organisation, Brexit Facts4EU.Org. We are most grateful for their original research into the raw data which backs what follows.
Brexit Britain’s international trade in goods and services has INCREASED
And this applies whatever time period you choose, in real terms or in current prices
In a devastating blow for the Rejoiner movement, we leave them with nowhere to go
A major CIBUK.Org and Facts4EU.Org Two-Part Report
- Summary of export growth [Monday’s report]
- The detailed evidence showing UK international trade is up by all measures [This report]
In this two-part landmark report, we provide the official facts
as well as comments from MPs and others
1. More detailed evidence
In today’s second part of our landmark report on Brexit Britain’s export performance following weeks of detailed research using the official sources, CIBUK.Org and Facts4EU.Org can present the definitive evidence that UK’s exports of goods and services since before the Leave vote and thereafter have increased – not fallen as the Rejoiners claim.
It doesn’t matter what time period you take, nor whether you use ‘current prices’, or ‘chained volume measures’ to take out the effect of price rises. In all cases Brexit Britain’s international trade is up.
Summary
Brexit Britain’s international trade in goods and services has INCREASED :-
1. Using ‘Chained Volume Measures’ (to take out the effect of price inflation)
Comparing Sept 2015 (before the Referendum) to the same month (Sept) in 2022
- UP 18.0% – Sept 2022 compared with Sept 2015
- UP 14.6% – Sept 2022 compared with June 2016 when we voted to leave

2. Using ‘Current Prices’ – actual value of exports in each time period
- UP 58.4% – Sept 2022 compared with Sept 2015
- UP 48.4% – Sept 2022 compared with June 2016 when we voted to leave

Summary
CIBUK.Org proves it doesn’t matter what period you take, UK exports of goods and services are UP. This applies using both Current Pricing and also when taking out price rises using the ONS’s Chained Volume Measures tables.
Commenting on this report….
In the Part One of this report on Monday we gave the views of the Rt Hon Sir John Redwood MP. Today we provide the observations of other experienced individuals.
Experienced company director and Deputy Chairman of CIBUK.Org, Professor Daniel Hodson, commented:-
“Britain continues to rise to the economic challenge and exploit the opportunities of Brexit.
“And the torrent of trade deals, impossible before, will further benefit our exporters. Ignore the gaslighting tactics of the Rejoiner propagandists.
“Brexit is working and there should be more good news to come.”
Daniel Hodson was Finance Director of a FTSE 100 Company and the Nationwide Building Society, former President and Chairman of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, former CEO and Regulatory Responsible Officer of LIFFE, former director of the London Clearing House and of the Post Office, and lectured whilst Gresham Professor of Commerce on mutual organisations and governance. He has been involved in Brexit for over a decade as former Chairman of the OpCo of The People’s Pledge, Treasurer of Business for Britain, Director of Vote Leave, and Chairman of The City for Britain and the CityUnited Project.
UK international exports are up :-
- Despite the Remainers’ desperate attempts to overturn the largest democratic vote in UK history
- Despite the Remainer-Rejoiners’ desperate attempts then to prevent a successful Brexit
- Despite them talking the country down ever since
- And despite the EU’s attempts to put every obstacle in the way for UK exporters
