Cameron’s Government confirms its £50 billion spend on EU membership

We can’t afford to keep the streetlights on. We can’t afford to repair the roads. We can’t afford to properly fund the NHS. There is so much that is essential that we can’t afford – so why do we allow this expenditure to continue? Don’t bother to negotiate with the EU – just leave now!

It has been a long time coming! By this I mean the majority of the UK population are waking up to the truth about the EU now. No need to go into all, as you have stated, along with others like Roger Bootle, the EU is a non democratic organisation that feeds like a money monster to satisfy its own ends. Which is political integration of Europe with anything economic as a second thought. The truth, I believe, is the other European population’s really don’t want to loose their individual nations identities also, however they are hog washed into believing there is no other way forward.

The case has been made to leave the EU and forge a trading situation similar to Norway. Let’s get this referendum now and leave, then we can stop bleeding cash and spend on generating our own growth and development.

I can now understand how the EU can afford to fund projects like the Hadron Collider, an expernsive space programme and build the worlds largests telescope.

And what do we get for our £50 billion? No Steel making, little or no shipbuilding, no more British Cars on the road, almost no fishing fleet left and no coal mines left. Meanwhile they use our £50 billion to give France, Italy and Germany all the subsidies they ask for, maitain French smallholders pretending to be farmers and use some of the rest as bribes to buy the loyalty of British Officialdom. There is a Conference of the Bruges Group coming up soon, and I wish I lived in London to attend. If we don’t join together soon, there will be no Britain left to fight for.

Polly Toynbee claims that leaving the EU ‘would risk millions of jobs’. How, exactly? We could still sell our goods to our present customers in European and everywhere else, as do all the other countries in the world that are not in the EU. So why should any jobs be lost when we exit?
More than 60% of Switzerland’s exports go to the EU, but that did not make Switzerland join the EU. WTO rules forbid the EU to discriminate against the products of any country, so when we leave the EU, trade will continue and so will the jobs.
When the National Institute for Economic and Social Research found that leaving the EU would not cost jobs, the Independent reported ‘8 million jobs could be lost if Britain quits EU’ (18 February 2000). The NIESR’s director, Dr Martin Weale, responded that the Independent’s claim was “absurd … pure Goebbels. In many years of academic research I cannot recall such a wilful distortion of the facts.” Polly seems to be recycling the same old … distortions.
